Operatives’ course

Finding a job in new roads and street works means you’ll play a vital role in building and maintaining Britain’s road network. This course will give you the skills and knowledge to carry out work to the standards required by the New Roads and Street Works Act.

If you complete the course successfully, you will be certified through the SQA awarding body and registered on the Street Works Qualifications Register. This is nationally recognised and valid for 5 years.

 

Supervisors’ course

On this course you’ll gain the skills and knowledge required to: Monitor and Supervise Signing, Lighting and Guiding, and Excavation and Reinstatement.

All these are carried out by operatives in line with the New Roads and Street Works Act. If you complete the course successfully, you will be certified through the SQA awarding body and registered on the Street Works Qualifications Register. This is nationally recognised and valid for 5 years.

Streetworks Supervisor Stand Alone Units

After successfully completing this course you will be awarded a nationally accredited SWQR qualification, valid for up to five years. Your training will run on consecutive weekdays giving you both hands-on and observation-based training.
