This course is for those who have not been formally trained, have little to no experience or required to refresh their certification in operating the equipment.

On completion of course, trainees will have attained a level of operating skill, which will follow the standard laid down by ITSSAR / NPORS accreditation body.

Trainees will gain knowledge and understanding in:

· The reasons and the need to train/Role of the Operator
• Responsibilities under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, PUWER 98 & LOLER 98 /Operators Safety Code
• Battery maintenance, charging procedures and re-fuelling/ Pre-use checks
• Counterbalance principles and rated capacity/ Factors affecting machine stability
• Machine familiarisation and motive controls/Hydraulic controls/Attachments
• Load types/Manoeuvring in open and confined areas
• Stacking and de-stacking at various levels

Accreditation is with ITSSAR, NPORS or in-house certification to your specifications.

Novice
1 trainee = 3 days
2 trainees = 4 days
3 trainees = 5 days

Refresher
1-3 trainees = 1 day
